Be the Best you can Be
Hello and welcome to Hillary Class, we are really looking forward to getting to know you and your child as their learning journey begins at Gamston Primary School. As the Class teacher I will be available before and after School if you have any questions or queries, Mrs Morris is our wonderful full time Nursery Nurse working alongside us too.
Thank you Miss Weselby
Fantastic, Firework Friday
Look at what a super day we had on Friday, decorating firework biscuits and doing some fantastic firework dancing.
Today in Hillary Class we took our Maths outside for some super counting and matching objects to numbers.
Today the children in Hillary Class loved exploring the apparatus.
Superfood for Superheroes
Today we made a super, yummy fruit salad with our fantastic Cook Kim. Lots of lovely talk around what keeps us healthy and why it is important to eat fruit and vegetables.
As part of our healthy eating topic today the children used their senses to explore mint, spinach, blue berries, raspberries, red cabbage and beetroot we then mushed these up to release the natural juices and painted with these. The children used such wonderful vocabulary to describe how the food felt and smelt.
Today in Hilary Class we started our Healthy Eating topic, our class book is Oliver's Vegetables, the children spoke about vegetables that they like and we did some super vegetable printing too. We also had spaghetti in the messy tray!
The children have had a lovely morning practicing their balancing, jumping and crawling skills in our Friday PE session.
Making a baby owl
Today the children used play dough to create their own baby owl as part of our Owl Babies topic. We think that they look wonderful, the children also added feathers and eyes to their owls and produced some super writing too.
Owl Babies art
Look at the beautiful paintings that the children have produced to represent one of the owls from the Owl Babies story.
Making nests for a baby owl
The children had a lovely time collecting twigs and leaves to build their nests for their baby owl, as part of our owl babies topic. It was a very windy trip outside however the thought very carefully about the objects that they were collecting and why they needed to collect these objects.
What a super time we are having learning, exploring and making new friends in Hillary Class.
