Welcome to Hillary Class
Be the Best you can Be
Hello and welcome to Hillary Class, we are really looking forward to getting to know you and your child as their learning journey begins at Gamston Primary School. As the Class teacher I will be available before and after School if you have any questions or queries, Mrs Morris is our wonderful full time Nursery Nurse working alongside us too.
Thank you Miss Weselby
Wonderful Winter Wednesday
What a fantastic day we had to celebrate the start of our Winter topic. We looked at ice melting and freezing and practiced our cutting skills to make a snowman. We also watched some videos of building a snowman and learnt a snowman song and dance.
A super party afternoon
This afternoon was our Christmas party, what a super time we had! Party games with our friends in Bannister, party food and a very special visitor. We are really on the count down for Christmas now.
Look at the wonderful nativity stars! We are so excited about our Nativity performances on Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening thank you so much for your support with the wonderful costumes.
Christmas biscuit decorating
What a fantastic time the children in Hillary Class had decorating Christmas shortbread biscuits. A huge thank you to Kim and Rachel for giving up their own time to bake the biscuits and then to support the children with the decorations.
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Hillary Class!
Look at the wonderful Nativity art work that the children in Hillary Class produced with Mr Woodsford and Mrs Morris.
Wow what a super day the children in Hillary Class have had, to conclude our fire topic we had a very special visit from the fire fighters and a fire engine. The children tried on the fire fighters clothes, squirted the hose and had a chance to sit in the fire engine!
Children in Need 2018!
We had a super spotty day in Hillary class celebrating Children Need. We had a parade in front of the School to show off our spotty, bright and Pudsey clothes. We also decorated biscuits and cakes with Bannister Class this was a fantastic opportunity for the oldest and youngest children in School to work together, we made headbands and face masks too. We sold the cakes and biscuits and all of the proceeds went to Children in Need. A very big thank you to Sophia's Mummy for baking us such a yummy cake to share.

Fantastic, Firework Friday
Look at what a super day we had on Friday, decorating firework biscuits and doing some fantastic firework dancing.
Today in Hillary Class we took our Maths outside for some super counting and matching objects to numbers.
Today the children in Hillary Class loved exploring the apparatus.
Superfood for Superheroes
Today we made a super, yummy fruit salad with our fantastic Cook Kim. Lots of lovely talk around what keeps us healthy and why it is important to eat fruit and vegetables.
As part of our healthy eating topic today the children used their senses to explore mint, spinach, blue berries, raspberries, red cabbage and beetroot we then mushed these up to release the natural juices and painted with these. The children used such wonderful vocabulary to describe how the food felt and smelt.
Today in Hilary Class we started our Healthy Eating topic, our class book is Oliver's Vegetables, the children spoke about vegetables that they like and we did some super vegetable printing too. We also had spaghetti in the messy tray!
The children have had a lovely morning practicing their balancing, jumping and crawling skills in our Friday PE session.
Making a baby owl
Today the children used play dough to create their own baby owl as part of our Owl Babies topic. We think that they look wonderful, the children also added feathers and eyes to their owls and produced some super writing too.
Owl Babies art
Look at the beautiful paintings that the children have produced to represent one of the owls from the Owl Babies story.
Making nests for a baby owl
The children had a lovely time collecting twigs and leaves to build their nests for their baby owl, as part of our owl babies topic. It was a very windy trip outside however the thought very carefully about the objects that they were collecting and why they needed to collect these objects.
What a super time we are having learning, exploring and making new friends in Hillary Class.
